Hey everybody! As you know, I really love COSRX products and I’ve been using them for more than a year already! One of their most famous product is the One Step Pimple Clear Pads, which I personally love! But they also have another product called the One Step Moisture Up Pads, which I also tried! I thought I’d do a small comparison between the two products, to help you make a better decision on which product to buy!
The packaging for both of the products look similar, just that one is blue and the other is red. The pads are also the same for both, textured on one side and smooth on the other. This makes it great for gently exfoliating the gunk that settled on your skin for the whole day. You can use this after cleansing to act as a toner or simply to cleanse your face again! I like to use this right after I reach home before cleansing, because sometimes I don’t wash my face immediately, but I like that feeling of a ‘clean’ face.
So what’s the difference?
After using both personally, I feel like the two versions of the pads are catered to two very different groups of people. The pimple pads are more for the oily and acne-prone skin types, while the moisture pads are more for people with dry skin. I personally like the feeling of the pimple pads (maybe because I have oily skin). because it doesn’t feel as heavy as compared to the moisture pads, which I feel is catered more towards moisturizing.
I think both the pads contain betaine salicylate but I read somewhere that the concentration for the moisture pads is only 0.5%, which practically does nothing. But one thing I like is that the moisture pads contain propolis extract, which is one of my favourite ingredients as well.
I personally don’t like the feeling that is left on my skin after using the moisture pads, because it feels very heavy and leaves this layer, on the other hand, the pimple pads feel very refreshing and I feel like my pores can breathe after usage of the pads. This is probably because of my skin type, and I think if you’re more on the dry skin spectrum, the moisture pads will be great for you! I honestly don’t know how much the percentage of propolis extract is, but propolis is also good for acne!
If I’m not wrong, the moisture pads are also more expensive than the pimple pads. Weird, I wonder why?
My choice: The Pimple Pads. Maybe one day they’ll combine both and create a new product? Who knows? I feel like they are the pimple pads are my go-to “cleansing-tissue” sort of item for me, whenever I feel like my face is very dirty after I come home and too tired to wash my face early.
But don’t put too much hope on clearing your pimples/acne with these! They definitely smooth out the skin, but for severe acne and pimples, you definitely targeted spot treatments to completely get rid of them, but small tiny bumps or otherwise, the pimple pads will definitely be for you!
I hope you have a better idea of which one is catered more for you! Personal short update: in the middle of my hell week in University, so my September Favourites post may be delayed, but do stay tuned for that!
