If you have yet to realize, I love visiting cafes! And Korea has the most amazing cafes ever, so many diverse concepts and visuals! I made sure to visit some of the cafes when I was in Gwangju. I planned to visit a lot of cafes, but due to change of plans, I only manage to visit a few! But nevertheless, they were amazing!
I did my research and Dong Myeong Dong in Gwangju is well known for amazing cafes, I picked out a few and visited them! First on the list: LSC Cafe! Actually, I wanted to visit the cafe that was opposite, so I accidentally chanced upon this place. But I love how many Instagram worthy spots there are, also there’s a rooftop seating area! There’s an amazing view of Hanoks too 💕
The second place is called Heepshop, and I wanted to visit because the toilet looked so aesthetic (visit to see for yourself!) AND because they have green tea tiramisu!! If you know me, I loveeee green tea and matcha! The portion was too huge for me, so its great for sharing!! It was so delicious!! Also, I love the aesthetics of this place… ugh Korea, you doing cafes right!
Last place, Mudeung coffee! But I think this place renovated and it’s called Shiba Cafe or something along that line. This was the original cafe that I wanted to visit, because I saw how beautiful the place is!! Their Americano is not bad as well, but the menu was quite limited. I’m not sure how this place has changed ever since renovation but, I’m pretty sure the cafes in this area are amazing!
If you’re sick of cafehopping, you can always visit Hanul Madang right across the street! You can pack food and have a picnic on the grass! Loads of people were enjoying beer, food and taking photos here! Also, there’s a bridged market on Saturdays, so enjoy some street food if you’re here on a Saturday!
I also made a visual guide to show you how near the cafes are in this area, and it’s not limited to just these cafes!! If you walk and explore, I’m sure you’ll find a cafe that fits your taste, so take some time off your schedule and enjoy a sip of coffee!
I hope you enjoyed this post, I love cafehopping so much and I really can’t wait to visit more cafes in the future! Share with me some of your favourite cafes in Korea in the comment section down below! 👇🏻
Thanks for reading and see you in my next post on Wednesday!
