It’s the start of August!! Which also means another monthly favourite post! Also, today is my last day in Bangkok, sobs. July is slightly different because I am including my empties inside! If not I would have too little favourites oops 😂 Also, read all the way down for coupon codes ㅡ even something for free!!
July was a stay-home-most-of-the-week kind of month, everybody is busy with their own stuff or with work, and I was busy thinking of what to post on the blog, editing photos and updating my content calendar. I didn’t even shave my face for like three days straight because I wasn’t going out! I mean we have those periods where we have no plans… right? Or is that just me? Is this too honest? Oops 😬 Good thing about that was me being able to focus a lot on planning and testing out various products heehee
Disclaimer: Products here are all purchased by myself. This post may include several affiliate links, but this doesn’t change anything. Everything I write here is my honest opinion. You don’t need to use my link, but if you do, it’ll really help me and my blog! 😊
I only have two favourites this month. First one ㅡ The Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner. This is absolutely amazing on the skin, I finally understand why there are so many good reviews online! I really want to use this forever but I have other toners on my list to try! Ugh, the struggles of a beauty blogger.
The Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toner helps to maintain the pH level and also aids in the absorption of other skincare products. It contains ingredients like Sodium Hyaluronate, Centella Asiatica Extract and Beta-glucan. What I like to do with this toner is to pat it into my skin twice, and my skin just drinks this up! An immediate result is the reduction of redness on the skin. I love how it doesn’t sit on the skin, and you can literally feel the product being absorbed into your skin. The good thing about Klairs is that it works on sensitive skin as well!
If you haven’t joined the Klairs Toner bandwagon, you can check it out on Wishtrend via this link! I really recommend this to everyone, if you’re not a person who does skin care, just start with this! You’ll see how one product can start making a difference to your skin. As a Wishtrend Affiliate, I am not paid to say good things about their products, everything you see on this blog are honest reviews!
The second product is an item from The Ordinary, which is the Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%. I was very interested in The Ordinary products because of its affordability, also a part of me loved how they named their products! I bought this along with Retinol 1%, which I tested and I saw my skin peeling. So I decided to stop the retinol as I was heading to Bangkok, and I didn’t want the peeling to “affect” my trip in a way.
But I am very amazed by the results of the Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% so far. I’ve only used this in the morning daily for slightly more than a month, and I can see my pore size become slightly smaller. No joke there. I was kind of sceptical at first, but I am going to monitor the progress for a while more before giving the final thoughts on it. But with results like that, It’s definitely a favourite for now. I’m not a fan of the texture and finish but I can overlook that this month because I’m home most of the time.
As for Empties, I have a couple of them! First one is the Tony Moly The Chok Chok Green Tea Watery Cream. The texture for this is really interesting. It’s almost sherbet-like, yet when you rub it onto your skin, it turns watery. Hence, the name Watery Cream. I think oily skin folks would really enjoy this!
Second on the list is the Cosrx Centella Blemish Cream. O m g, I had this cream for months and I’m finally done with it. A little goes a long way for this cream, and boy, you are right. This is such a rich textured cream that you only need a tiny bit, especially if you’re only using this for spots or as an acne treatment, this would take forever to finish! Talk about value for money! Sometimes I like to use this on the entire face, just because. But it definitely works for acne, you can see your pimples becoming less inflamed the next day! Something I would recommend to acne-prone folks out there.
Talking about acne, I also finished a pack of Cosrx Acne Pimple Patches! These patches are my holy grail. I talked about this in my Acne Solutions post and also in my Travel Essentials post. They suck all the gunk out of your acne, and it definitely reduces scarring when your pimple pops! I love this. I put this overnight, and next day, the pimple size is reduced. Omg seriously Cosrx, packs of 100 please!! Wishtrend is selling this in bundles of five. You pay for the price of four and get one free! Trust me, one is not enough. You’ll never use other pimple patches ever again.
Another cream I used up is the Nooni Advanced Repair Therapy Super Revitalising Cream. What a long name lol. I’m not even sure if they sell this on Memebox anymore. This cream contains a lot of good ingredients like ceramide, Jeju lava water and Centella Asiatica. One con about this is it could be slightly heavy for oily skin types, but you’re using this mostly at night, so I closed one eye. But otherwise, it’s definitely very moisturising, probably due to the presence of ceramides. People with slightly dry to normal skin should find this cream okay.
I also finished a bottle of the LJH Tea Tree Essence. I liked this so much at the beginning because it contained tea tree and you can never get enough of tea tree, especially if you have oily acne prone skin, tea tree is definitely a holy grail ingredient for a lot of us. This moisturises, but I wouldn’t say it helps a lot with acne. It’s just a very good essence for oily skin and acne-prone skin because of how light it feels.
The Eucerin Aquaporin Active Mist is just something I have beside me whenever I need to freshen up. I also like to spray this before applying a sheet mask. Nothing special about this, just one of those mist sprays you find everywhere.
Lastly, I have the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop. I mentioned this product in my June Favourites and now it’s appearing again on the July Favourites post (albeit as an empty) but I really love this product. Vitamin C helps with pigmentation and is really helpful in getting rid of spots. If you don’t know where to start when it comes to Vitamin C, the Klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop is a very good starting point. Although it contains a lesser percentage of Vitamin C compared to other products in the market, this, in turn, makes it useable for sensitive skin as well! Also, since it uses a stable form of Vitamin C, it can be stored longer! You can also check this product out on Wishtrend, simple just by clicking here. After letting your skin get accustomed to Vitamin C using the Klairs one, you can move on to higher percentaged Vitamin C products, like this 21.5% one by By Wishtrend.
