This post is definitely for those cafe-hopping fanatics, those who love visiting Instagram worthy cafes on trips, because that’s what I did for a whole day during my Solo trip in May 2017! I feel cafes are a perfect place to seek shelter when it’s raining, or when you have no plans, just head to a cafe with a book and enjoy the afternoon!
I checked out some of the hottest cafes when I was there! You could follow this list and spend an entire day in Seoul if you don’t know what to do, or mix and match with other cafes you want to visit!
First stop for the day was Share D’ Table! I scrolled through Instagram and found a post of the neon lights, and I was immediately attracted! I honestly thought the cafe would like the pictures above (only) BUT turns out they have a huge sitting space! They have an extensive lunch menu as well, so it’s a great place to start for the day!
I knew I was going to other cafes as well so I only ordered a coffee! (An insta-worthy one because why not?) I came slightly right after they opened so the entire place was almost empty! It’s a nice place to enjoy the ambience, maybe read a book with the sunlight shining in? (LOL)
Address: 47 Yeonmujang-gil, Seongsu-dong 2(i)-ga, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, South Korea
Nearest Subway: Seongsu Station Exit 4
Opening Hours: 9AM to 11PM
Cafe Onion is situated in the same neighbourhood as Share D’ Table so it’s the perfect place to visit before or after Share D’ Table! The crowd here is crazy 24/7 so it really doesn’t matter what time you visit this place. It’s probably one of the most famous cafes in Seoul, because I keep seeing people walking in!
That being said, this place has amazing bread and pastry! So i suggest coming with an empty stomach, bring a couple of friends so you can share and taste more food! They even have small rooms around the cafe, a rooftop area for you to sit so it’s a great place to hang!
Oh, and their carrot juice is really just blended carrot. The Singaporean in me was craving for Pokka Carrot Juice, you know those in a can? I stupidly ordered the carrot juice thinking it would taste the same… oh boy was I wrong… So, if you love blended carrot, by all means go for it, if not, don’t make the same mistake as me!
Address: 8 Achasan-ro 9(gu)-gil, Seongsu-dong 2(i)-ga, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, South Korea
Nearest Subway: Seongsu Station Exit 2
Opening Hours: 8AM to 10PM on weekdays, 10AM to 10PM on weekends
Another one of the must-visits when cafehopping is oneinamillion! This place is probably seen often on your Instagram feed when your friends go to Korea. It’s also where Taeyeon filmed one of her MVs!! There are alot of cafes along this stretch, but oneinamillion is probably one of the better known ones!
If this place is not to your liking, check out the variety of cafes along this stretch!! Trust me, the variety is endless! I wanted to visit every single one but my bladder has a limit from drinking so much drinks… especially since it was a solo trip… I had to drink everything 😅
Address: 31 Itaewon-ro 54-gil, Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, 서울특별시 South Korea
Nearest Subway: Hangangjin Station, Exit 3
Opening Hours: 11AM to 11PM
Last stop of the day, Dssent! This place fits my aesthetics so much, it’s so white and filled with marbled tables!!! I definitely had to visit this place! Had a bit of trouble finding this place though, but getting lost is part of travelling isn’t it?
(also the guy didn’t want to leave so I couldn’t get a photo of the spot near the front door and I camped there for like so long before I gave up)
Also, surprisingly, this was only my second cup of caffeine after cafehopping the whole day!
Address: (after googling I think they closed down??? or moved?? WHY)
Nearest Subway: In Between Sinsa and Apjugeong (at least it used to be)
Opening Hours: GOD KNOWS
Well now I guess you have to find another cafe instead of Dssent to end your cafehopping day lol. My suggestion is another cafe near oneinamillion because the cafes there are really pretty and aesthetic and food near Itaewon never disappoints!
What are some of your favourite cafes in Seoul? I really miss cafehopping.. can’t wait to do it soon!! (I guess I’ll be able to since it’s summer break now!)
Thanks for reading! See what I’m up to on Instagram!
