If you’re a university student like me, chances are you won’t be able to travel overseas during the cherry blossom period. You’ll probably be studying for finals or rushing your deadlines during that period. But once that’s over, you can go a short break and even though the cherry blossom season is over, I’m gonna show you 2 spots where you can see fields of flowers! Ironically, these 2 spots seem like perfect dating spots, so when I went there alone, it kinda felt sad. Lol, *squats and draws circles on the floor*
Every year, there is a festival known as the Hangang Seoraeseom Canola Festival! It happens usually for two days usually over the weekend, and you can experience everything from performances and photo booths etc. BUT, I missed that and when I found out that I missed the dates, I was kind of sad thinking the canola flowers won’t be there anymore!! (Random fact but another good place to see canola flowers is Jeju!)
But thankfully, they were still there, alive, not dead yet, but soon to be dead. There were couples e v e r y w h e r e. It’s definitely not a place to go alone, because you feel so out of place once you step in the area!! But you know, who cares, you’re on your solo trip so you can do whatever the hell you wanna do!
It’s such a nice place because you get to view the Han River as well! I suggest going to the area late afternoon, so you can get that amazing sunset glow for your photos, if that’s what you’re chasing after. But I went near 2pm?? 3pm? The sun was so bright and I felt any photos I took were overexposed hah. Nice place for a short stroll, photo taking session and just simply enjoying the experience! (photo below: see what I mean by couples?)
40, Sinbanpo-ro 11-gil, Seocho-gu, Seoul
서울특별시 서초구 신반포로11길 40 (반포동, 반포안내센터)
Nearest Station: Gubanpo Station (Seoul Subway Line 9), Exit 2.
Follow the street signs for Hangang Park to arrive at Banpo Seoraeseom Island!
Second place I want to share with you guys is located somewhere in Buchon! It’s slightly further from central Seoul but I was so willing to travel all the way there when I saw how pretty the photos of the place was!! Basically, nearing the end of Spring, fields of poppy flowers bloom in Sangdong Lake Park! I have a friend who stays in Buchon and he didn’t even know of this place!!
Travelling there would probably take you at least an hour? Also I suggest going near evening sunset time because it would look so much prettier with that sunset glow! I went near noon and the sun was just directly above my head, ugh. Overexposed photos… oh well. Photos don’t do this place justice because it looks soooo amazing in real life!!
There are definitely spots for your OOTD and Instagram feed, I suggest coming here first and moving on to other locations if you intend to go to more than one place for the day. (but impossible if you wanna come during sunset hours)
Sangdong Lake Park
15, Jomaru-ro 85beon-gil, Wonmi-gu, Bucheon-si, Gyeonggi-do
경기도 부천시 원미구 조마루로 15 (상동)
Nearest Station: Samsan Gymnasium Station (Seoul Subway Line 7), Exit 5.
That’s all for this post!! I hope you get to check out the places I visited and share with me your experiences if you went!! Follow me on Instagram for my daily happenings!
