In case you haven’t noticed, Korea is still one of the most popular places for a holiday. Continuing with my Korea Travels series, I’ll share with you guys one of my most-loved area in Seoul! The photos are from a 2015 trip nearing the end of autumn, mid-November. Autumn foliage is so pretty everywhere in Seoul, especially Deoksugung!! If you haven’t checked that article out, be sure to click here to read it!
Samcheongdong and Bukchon Hanok Village are located at Anguk Station, Exit 1 or 2. The entire area is a mix of artistic and traditional vibes. I love it!! Especially during autumn, where you get to see the roads lined with yellow and orange coloured trees, ahhh, how I wish we had those here!
For the skincare enthusiasts, there’s an Innisfree store/cafe here, along with a Moonshot outlet. You can settle your shopping before heading back to your hotel/hostel!
Lots of quaint and cute cafes along the entire Samcheongdong stretch, so I would recommend going up to see the view of Seoul from the iconic photo spots at Bukchon Hanok Village before finding a nice cafe to settle down and just enjoy the weather. One of my favourite places to go is Osulloc Cafe because I love green tea! If not you can try out the hanok-themed cafes here, which is definitely a more unique experience!
Scroll down to look at that view of Samcheongdong when heading to the Hanok Village!!
Isn’t the foliage just so pretty?? 💕 Small tip: as the Hanok Village is still a residential area, be sure to keep your voices down when exploring the area!! You wouldn’t like it when people make loud noises around your neighbourhood, would you!
Be sure to explore the alleys, because these will be the photo spots that distinguish you from a typical tourist! I love how every corner of this village is so Instagram worthy! Also located in the Hanok Village is one of my favourite scent shops! I’ll talk more about it below!
You can see Namsan tower from here!
Okay, so one of my favourite scent shops is none other than Granhand! The images below are taken from their Instagram. All their products are hand-made (wut) I absolutely adore the Marine Vacth scent – which was featured in my May Favourites!! Also, they have these 10,000W sachets that supposedly last for around 6 months, super pretty and nice smelling! You can leave it in your wardrobe/closet and it’ll smell great!
Granhand has also recently released one-day workshops where you can make your own candles/fragrances and even skincare now! I think you have to DM them to arrange a session and to see if they’re available. I regret not going for a workshop when I was there recently, but I did buy a sachet back!
Photography is not allowed in the store, and I respected that so I didn’t take any photos inside, but their interior is gorgeous, especially with the new Granhand garden, which features their essential oils now! Be sure to check it out when you’re in Seoul! Oh, even if you’re not in Seoul, Granhand offers worldwide shipping so be sure to check out their website!
I really hope you visit this area in Seoul and experience it for yourself! Till the next post!
