Hey guys! Can’t believe we’re almost done with half of 2017! I know time flies, but this is really fast!! May is over and this means another monthly favourites post!!
Sheet Masks. Three in particular. I bought these sheet masks either in Hong Kong or Korea in 2016, and I really love them! Dewytree’s AC Control Deep Mask, Mediheal Labocare Cerametica Mask and the Bidanpo Balhyo-Jinjeong Mediental Healing Mask. If you noticed, they’re all green in colour, and that’s because they’re all related to acne control, relieving or soothing. I love how thick the essence is for these sheet masks, and they really soothe your skin. They’re definitely more expensive than the sheet masks from roadside brands, but trust me, they work.
Dewytree’s AC Control Deep Mask —
Peppermint that help treat blemishes and control troubled skin. Papaya enzyme that helps exfoliate, smooth the skin and increase absorption power of essence.
Mediheal Labocare Cerametica Mask —
Contains Centella Asiatica (one of my favourites), tea tree extract and ceramide. Helps to soothe, moisturise and purify. Also, the material of this mask feels super interesting, soft and very flexible? I don’t know how to explain it, but it almost feels like silk.
Bidanpo Balhyo-Jinjeong Mediental Healing Mask —
Contains lots of oriental and medicinal ingredients, or Hanbang. Helps to relieve and repair sensitive and troubled skin.
I try to incorporate a sheet mask into my night time routine as much as possible and having a variety of sheet masks makes my daily routine more interesting. Hee.
Cosrx’s One Step Pimple Clear Pad. I have been using this for months now and I forgot to include this in the previous monthly favourites. I use this right after cleansing to get rid of any impurities that my cleanser failed to remove, and this acts as a toner to tone my face. I love how I get to see the gunk on the cotton pads after using this. I used the Moisture pads a lot during my travels (especially on the plane), but since my skin type is more oily/acne-prone, I prefer this over the moisture pads.
I actually have two more items in the skincare category, but I’ll explain more below!
I am absolutely in love with Granhand’s Marine Vacth. It fits perfectly for the weather in Singapore, it’s not too overwhelming but it feels just right.
Here’s the description of the scent on their website.
“Sitting on a surf board, I make waves on the sea with my legs. I see the bottom of the sea through the waves reflecting the sun. I wonder about the deep ocean although I was just in it. As I climb down the surf board, the coldness enamors my body. I take a short breath and swim into the ocean.”
I cannot express how nice Grandhand products smell! You guys need to try it out!! Visit them when you’re in Korea or you can just order their products online! I think they ship worldwide! Check out my post on where I talked more about Granhand!
Favourite Fashion Item
It’s always too hot to layer in Singapore! With the exception of a few rainy and cooling days, t-shirts and thin fabrics are probably the best way to get around. Also, when I was in Korea, it was around 23 to 26 degrees, which is not cold for me, so it didn’t make sense to layer as well.
I love the pajama-style shirts nowadays, the H&M one was more of a resort-styled with short sleeves that almost reach your elbows. I love how thin the fabric is and it’s cooling to wear even on a hot summer day. Perfect for holidays or beach getaways!
The other item would be the mesh-textured dusty pink t-shirt from H&M. I absolutely love this colour and how comfortable it feels.
Favourite Travel Items
May was a great month — finishing my finals, which marked the end of my freshmen year, and being able to go overseas for a solo trip! One thing I realised is that I cannot live without the Adidas Stan Smiths whenever I go overseas. This pair has followed me to Hong Kong and Korea last year. It’s so comfortable and pairs well with almost any outfit, so no worries when it comes to your Instagram OOTD shots! 📷
Su:m 37 Miracle Rose Cleansing Stick — first time bringing this overseas, and boy, it’s such a handy product. Other than that, it works and my face doesn’t feel stripped of moisture after using it. Cleanses thoroughly and has a pleasent scent, can’t get any better than this.
It’s Skin The Homme Double Shot Fresh Sun Gel SPF 48+++ — Previously, I used the IOPE Men’s Sunscreen, but I wanted to try something new, and this was on sale so I got it. It’s a very lightweight sunscreen, almost watery, and doesn’t leave a white cast. Sun care is so important… I regret not putting sunscreen on my feet when wearing sandals, and now I have ugly sandal tan lines 😞
So that’s all! My favourites for the month of May! Still can’t believe time passed by so quickly… I miss Korea!! 😭😭😭 Can’t wait to share more of my Korea Travels with you guys!! Till the next post!
