If you’re a university student like me, chances are you won’t be able to travel overseas during the cherry blossom period. You’ll probably be studying for finals or rushing your deadlines during that period. If you have yet to realize, I love visiting cafes! And Korea has the most amazing cafes ever, so many diverse concepts and visuals! I made sure to visit some of the cafes when I was in Gwangju. I planned to visit a lot of cafes, but due to change of plans, I only manage to visit a few! But nevertheless, they were amazing! I did my research and Dong Myeong Dong in Gwangju is well known for amazing cafes, I picked out a few and visited them!
I love staying in Airbnbs when travelling! I feel that they offer a more ‘homely’ vibe to your travel. Also, don’t you find that when you stay in hotels, the surroundings are too targeted towards tourists, so you don’t get a taste of how the locals live like! I love how there is an Airbnb that can suit anyone and everyone ㅡ you can live in a resort, a cabin or even just a local’s house! This was my experience when I stayed in an Airbnb in Bangkok for three nights.
Since this solo trip started in Gwangju, I knew I had to visit Jeonju Hanok Village this time around since it’s relatively near. Heading to Jeonju is relatively easy, just take a bus from U-Square Bus Terminal, the journey takes around 1hr plus, and the ticket is not expensive as well, only 9,600 won to be exact!
