We started Day 3 by visiting the Otokoyama Sake Brewery where we got to try different kinds of Sake, and some cups are (which are really filled to the brim) only for 200yen. There was also a mini sled area here so people who don’t drink can enjoy playing with snow! (in winter) Day drinking, making great decisions when on holiday haha! I’ve heard that people come all the way here for this spring water thingy? They fill their bottles or even containers with it!
Next stop for the day is Asahiyama Zoo! Look at the view from the entrance of the zoo! You can see the entire city, but honestly when I stood there, I was like.. where are all the animals? But honestly, this place is huge and it was my first time visiting a zoo filled with snow!! (maybe cos of this, that’s why the animals look happier here??)
There’s a penguin parade where the penguins march all the way to their home, and the penguins are like.. centimetres away from you only!! Super close!! And even when you go take a look at the penguins, their enclosure has no glass, you can literally reach out your hand and if you try reaching to them, I think you can almost touch them!! It was so cool being so close to one!! They have staff walking alongside them during the parade so don’t even try taking a selfie with a penguin haha!
I normally won’t visit zoos when I’m overseas, but this place was really good! It kept us entertained, and it really doesn’t feel like the zoo in Singapore! The snow was one thing, but the animals here were SO close to us! Ended the day by going back near the hotel and having this hairy hairy crab, which was okay, heard from our guide that these crabs are eaten for their eggs and not the meat.
Quick update: I’m back in Singapore, and I’m working on so many things right now, I can’t wait to show you guys everything!! Will try to update this space more often from now on! Please please please follow my Instagram for my daily updates!!
Have a great day!
